In May, 1992, Steve Stockton opened Bixler Insurance of Portland in a rented space at 1409 W. Votaw St. He began his career in insurance in 1979 and is a multi-line licensed agent in property and casualty, life and health. Steve is knowledgeable in farm and crop insurance, as well as all aspects of commercial and personal insurance. Feel free to contact him with questions concerning your coverage or to obtain a quote.
In March, 1993, Sue Wade joined the agency as a customer service representative. She is the office manager, a licensed property and casualty agent and can help with personal or commercial insurance.
In October, 1996, Bixler Insurance of Portland relocated to their current downtown office location. A location that formerly housed John May Shoes. Remodeling of the former shoe store resulted in the creation of a reception area as well as offices and a conference room.
Michelle Kemp joined the office staff in December, 2005 as a customer service representative. She is a licensed agent in property and casualty and can help with your personal insurance.
In March, 2006, Jim Dues joined the Portland office as a property and casualty agent. We were saddened in March, 2009 with his sudden and unexpected passing.
Brad Dues, Jim's son, joined Bixler Insurance of Portland in July, 2009 as a licensed property and casualty agent. Brad continues to service his late father's accounts as well as build his own book of business. His farming knowledge is a valuable asset to the agency.
The most recent addition to the staff is Kyle Stockton, Steve's son, who came on board in February, 2010. Kyle is licensed in property and casualty and has began building his book of business.
